UNITARY GOVERNMENT FOR SUFFOLK – OUR RESPONSE
The Boundary Committee for England have now reported on the response to their draft proposals published in July 2008.
We responded to the review on your behalf on the 25th September 2008 as Consultee. Now it has issued a new 55 page document entitled “Further Proposals for Unitary Local Government in Suffolk to which further views will be welcomed by the boundary commission by the 14th May 2009.

The Secretary of State has extended the date by which she must receive advice to the 15th July from the Boundary Committee and it would seem that the Government are looking to make a final decision by the end of the year.
We will be contacting members with our further thoughts, but the thrust of our response will not change from those set out in our letter of the 25th September (open pdf)
